Covid-19 and us

Covid-19 is here to stay for a while so we need to work in a different way for your safety.

Risk assessment

We have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment to identify and mitigate Covid-19 safety. Working to standards created by the British Marine Federation in line with UK Government instructions we have adopted. the following measures.

Limited passenger numbers

Maritime regulations permit us to carry 12 passengers, but this is before the Covid-19 situation developed we have to comply with the latest restrictions.

From 19th July 2021 we are fully open for 8/10 passengers..

Many of our customers choose a Private Cruise for Two. In this case, for a couple from the same household there will be no special distancing measures. You can choose any seat and move around as you please, regardless of the Covid status.

Further changes to the Covid-19 regulations may further impact on the above.

Keep 2m social distance (Yes even after lockdown.)

The crew/skipper will keep at least 2m from you at all times. This way we dont just avoid being “Pinged” but also help prevent spreading of the virus. Can’t be a bad thing!

For this reason the aft deck will remain out of bounds for passengers.

Cleaning

All public areas of the boat will be cleaned daily and between bookings. Highly used touch points such as handrails, doors, tables, chairs will be cleaned with sanitiser at the end of every booking

Toilet

Available but for restricted use. Please assist us by keeping this area clean and safe for others.

The toilet will be cleaned and sanitised between each booking.

Blankets, Cushions and Books/Maps

No blankets, cushions or books can be provided at present, so these have been removed from the boat. You are of course welcome to bring your own rugs and blankets.

PPE

We offer and encourage you to use hand sanitiser, made by our local Gin distillery to a recipe from the World Health Organisation. Its highly alcoholic (80%) and smells wonderful but please don’t taste test it as this would be highly dangerous!

Please use this on boarding and at any time during the trip.

Optional gloves and face coverings are made available to all crew members who will wear them as appropriate..

Face coverings are recommended for passengers but not compulsory while outside. Inside the cabin areas we ask that these are worn if you are not from the same household as our other passengers.

Inside or out?

Our seating area is open sided with removable curtains. These will remain open throughout whenever possible, to allow maximum air circulation..

Payment

We ask you to complete your booking online, including advance payment. We have contactless payment onboard for any extra costs but for now we won’t be accepting cash.

Boarding and Disembarking

Please do not arrive early. You should not approach the boat until 10 minutes before your booked time as the area beside the boat is used by members of the public. Please use common sense to maintain two metres distancing whenever possible in public areas. There should be no queuing prior to boarding - we will be ready for you 10 minutes ahead and you can walk straight up and onto the boat.

The crew will advise on the boarding and seating arrangements as above and their instructions must be adhered to.

Please observe social distancing as required during the cruise. Do not leave the passenger cabin either outside or inside the boat. If you need to speak to the crew please maintain two metres distancing at all times.

Disembarking will be no later than 10 minutes after the end of the trip. The entire party must disembark at the same time following instructions from the crew and must not linger beside the boat at all, as we don’t have room for you on the public towpath. Please observe published towpath rules once you leave the boat.

Please don’t forget this is still a serious Public Health emergency and we are doing our best to provide you with a relaxing service which is bound to be different to pre-virus days but this is not of our making so please be supportive and assist us by complying.
