London Canal Boat Hire
with Canal and River Cruises Ltd
Whatever you are celebrating, get your party afloat with Canal and River Cruises, on a skippered London canal boat hire trip along the Grand Union Canal and Regent’s Canal. Our services start with a Party Picnic cruise where you may bring your own food and drink and have your own picnic party on the way. We can also provide Afternoon Tea – scones, cream and jam with tea as an optional extras.
We welcome groups of up to 12 people on our exclusive London Canal Boat Hire Trips and offer tailor made cruises to suit your exact needs, but our most popular route is two or three hours from our home moorings in Little Venice (close to Paddington) to Camden Lock Market and back, where the Regent’s Canal offers one of the most varied and beautiful canal trips in England.
All of our cruises are operated by a MCA Licensed professional skipper who will do all the boat handling while you sit back and enjoy the ride.
Lady A is the ideal choice if you are on a tight schedule during your visit to London as we can operate a personal guided sightseeing cruise to suit your exact needs and timescale. We can offer a one hour cruise in the Little Venice area with lots to see and even a trip through the tunnel in Maida Vale. We also recommend a one way trip to Camden Lock Market (supplement payable).
Our boat, Lady A, is licensed to carry up to 12 passengers and when you charter the boat, the whole boat is yours. Ideal for groups, but when there’s just the two of you, we can sometimes offer a very special reduction in price – please ask for details and availability.
(And if you’re looking for a boat for more than 12 guests, please don’t hesitate to ask. We know the other operators who can accommodate parties of up to 60+ and will be happy to advise!)
Open (almost) all hours!
We operate all year round from around 10am until around 9pm (or dusk in the winter) and our cruises are ideal for Birthday Parties, Hen Parties, Stag days (but not Stag nights!), family celebrations, business meetings, marriage proposals, weddings and engagements, private parties and just a nice day out for a group of friends. When the sun shines most of our guests naturally head for the open sided front deck, and for those less pleasant days this can be enclosed with roll down side panels. On all days we provide a selection of rugs to help keep the draughts out and in winter we turn up the heating to keep you nice and warm while still enjoying that exciting outdoor feeling!
Although its possible to cruise in the winter, there are some considerations – first of all the Regent’s Canal will be closed for maintenance at Camden in January and February and therefore we can only operate between Little Venice and Camden, and no further.
If its cold outside we can heat the boat but its often nicer to open up the front covers and see the views, but this obviously means wearing warm clothes!
We will be closed from Monday 21st December until Monday 28th December and New Years Day. We are also closed 18th January 2016 until late March.
Bring Your Own Bottle!
We don’t charge corkage so please feel free to bring your own beers and wines on any of our party picnic canal cruises or afternoon tea cruises. We regret that this offer is not available on public or sightseeing boat trips.
As our London Canal Boat Trips are normally private for you and your guests only, we rarely offer public boat trips. However check here for information about the other companies who offer Public Boat Trips on London’s Canals.
Last Minute Bookings?
The weather has become somewhat unpredictable in the last few years. Maybe you thought it was going to rain so didn’t book and then it turned out nice? We can often arrange last minute bookings especially mid-week so it doesn’t hurt to ask – even on the day…. come rain or shine!
As always, telephone 07899 800856 for the very latest information and availability.
