Public Boat Trips from Greenford to London

Crossing the North Circular Aqueduct

Offering great value for money, we are currently offering a two hour trip from The Black Horsemoorings at Greenford (425 Oldfield Lane, UB6 0AS) into the heart of London, stopping at Paddington/Little Venice and sometimes to Camden.  This is a one way trip but you can easily return to Greenford from Paddington by train or continue your day out in Central London.

We will depart from The Black Horse Moorings and head along the Grand Union Canal which is surprisingly rural on its way into London. The Black Horse is only 5 minutes walk from Greenford Railway and Underground Station. The attractive Horsenden Hill area of Perivale gives way to Alperton with its golf course and boat club, from where we pass under one of the newest bridges on the canal before crossing over the North Circular road on the famous twin channel aqueduct. Past the Brent Reservoir feeder from where the canal gets all its water, we continue through park Royal and Acton, Old Oak and Scrubbs Lane passing many interesting canalside businesses before Kensal Rise with its landmark gas-holders which every rail commuter will recognise, and it’s equally famous cemetery which borders the canal for several hudnred yards. Finally we pass beneath Ladbroke Grove and follow the route of the Harrow Road, passing close to the Trellick Tower and Westbourne Grove before arriving in Little Venice with its brightly painted narrowboats and famous houseboats.

Other routes are also available, especially the return trip from Paddington to Greenford and occasionally through to the London Canal Museum and to visit the London Olympics Site in Stratford.  Please visit this site regularly to be first to know about these special trips.
